Homecoming day in Lincoln, NE was spoiled by the Huskers 45-14 loss to the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Fan loyalty was already at a low point after the Missouri loss last week.
Fan reaction has been pretty harsh but mostly it's pointed at the Nebraska defensive coordinator Kevin Cosgrove. After visiting FireCosgrove.com it seems apparent that Cosgrove will not be around after this season. Despite all of this Cosgrove said Saturday he's not worried about his job security, that it's something he can't control.
“I’m just going to do my job the best I can,” Cosgrove said after Nebraska’s 45-14 home loss to Oklahoma State. “I’ve been doing it a long time. I have a lot of confidence in my abilities.
“There’ve been a lot of ups, there’ve been a lot of downs. In this profession, unfortunately that’s the way it is, no matter what program you’re at in the country.”
It seems to me that if Cosgrove doesn't figure out how to turn things around that he will be worrying alot less about how things run in Nebraska and alot more about his next job.
