The latest news, rumors and buzz about Nebraska Cornhusker Football

NU vs Oklahoma State

The Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Oklahoma State Cowboys are set to square off Saturday, October 13th 11:30am CDT (FSN PPV).  Not only is this a Big 12 contest but it's also Nebraska's homecoming.

After coming off of last week's beating at the hands of Missouri, Nebraska (4-2) is badly in need of a win this weekend.  The Huskers are favored by 3 1/2 point but I think it will be at least 7.

This section of an article in today's LJS by Steve Sipple is important:

Cook, a wealthy Dallas businessman whose name adorns an indoor practice facility on the NU campus, will watch today’s game from his Memorial Stadium skybox with T. Boone Pickens, the billionaire Texas oilman for whom Oklahoma State’s football stadium is named. Cook, by the way, is much more patient with the Huskers than Jensen.

But Cook is realistic.

“If Callahan isn’t that good, they’ll find a way to get rid of him,” he said. “And they’ll find a way to get rid of Steve.”

This is true.  Steve was pretty slick though getting his contract extension approved before the meat of the schedule.  Too bad he doesn't go through that much effort to get the team going.
